The Martin B-26B Marauder served with the 9th Air Force as the principal medium bomber of the American tactical air campaign in northwest Europe, pounding bridges, rail yards, and V-weapon sites in the weeks leading up to and following D-Day. Once its crews mastered its demanding handling characteristics, the Marauder proved exceptionally accurate and resilient — finishing the war with the lowest loss rate of any USAAF bomber in the European Theatre. Hobby 2000's 1/72 kit captures the B-26B in authentic 9th AF olive drab and grey schemes with the characteristic twin-tail and powerful Twin Wasp engines faithfully reproduced.
