The Douglas A-26 Invader was the USAAF's most capable attack bomber of World War II, entering service in 1944 and proving highly effective in both Europe and the Pacific. Fast enough to evade most fighter interception and hard-hitting with up to fourteen .50 calibre machine guns plus bombs and rockets, it remained in US service through Korea (redesignated B-26) and Vietnam. The C variant had a glazed bombardier nose rather than the solid gun nose of the B model, optimised for medium altitude precision bombing. This HobbyBoss 1/32 kit (83214) builds the Invader at the impressive large scale that really does justice to this important aircraft.
