The Fieseler Fi 156 Storch's exceptional low-speed handling and short-field performance made it ideal for operations in arctic and winter conditions, and the C-3 Skiplane variant was fitted with fixed ski undercarriage for operations from snow-covered surfaces. It served on the Eastern Front and in Finland and Norway, where conventional wheeled aircraft would have been unable to operate. This HobbyBoss 1/35 kit (80183) captures the ski-equipped Storch in this unusual and eye-catching configuration — an ideal companion for winter diorama subjects.
