The Panzerkampfwagen IV Ausf. B was the second production variant of Germany's most important medium tank, introduced in 1938 with a more powerful Maybach HL 120 engine, a straight-fronted superstructure, and a single-piece driver's hatch. Armed with the short 75mm KwK 37 L/24 gun optimised for infantry support, it served in Poland and France in the close support role it was designed for. The Panzer IV went on to outlast all other German tank designs, remaining in frontline service to the end of the war in increasingly upgunned and up-armoured variants. This HobbyBoss 1/35 kit (80131) captures the early Ausf. B configuration.
