The M3A5 was the diesel-engined production variant of the M3 Grant, built with a riveted hull and twin General Motors 6-71 diesel engines in place of the standard petrol unit. Diesel M3s were particularly valued by British Commonwealth forces operating in North Africa, where the reduced fire risk compared to petrol-engined tanks was a practical operational advantage. Supplied under Lend-Lease, the M3A5 also served with Soviet armoured units on the Eastern Front. I Love Kit's 1/35 kit captures the riveted hull construction and twin-exhaust layout that distinguish the A5 from its siblings.
