The 917t was the standard-wheelbase version of Germany's Ford-derived military truck, the basis from which both the standard cargo truck and the Maultier halftrack conversion were developed. In its straightforward wheeled cargo configuration the 917t served in the same supply column role as the V3000S, and the two vehicles are closely related enough that modellers familiar with either will find the other immediately recognisable. The 917t completes the Ford-based German truck family in IBG's range, providing the shorter wheelbase variant alongside its longer stable-mate and the Maultier conversions.
