The Centaur Dozer fitted a hydraulically operated bulldozer blade to the front of the chassis, creating an armoured engineer vehicle capable of clearing obstacles, filling craters, and pushing debris from roads under fire. In Normandy the dozer tanks were invaluable for breaching the earthen banks of the bocage, clearing bomb craters from roads, and preparing river crossing approaches. The unglamorous but essential work of the armoured engineers kept the Allied advance moving when geography and German resistance conspired to stop it. The Centaur Dozer's distinctive blade and modified hull make it one of the most visually distinctive variants in IBG's Cromwell family range.
