The Chevrolet C60L Office Lorry was the mobile headquarters vehicle of the CMP family — a specially fitted truck body providing a working space for staff officers, complete with map boards, communications equipment, and the furniture of military administration. Mobile offices allowed headquarters to move rapidly without losing the ability to command and control, an essential capability in the fast-moving operations of the later war years. The office body with its distinctive panelled sides and access doors gives this variant a completely different character from the cargo trucks in the same family, and it is a unique subject that tells the story of how armies thought and planned as well as fought.
