The Diamond T 969 Wrecker was the recovery vehicle version of the 968 cargo truck chassis, fitted with a Holmes twin-boom wrecker body capable of recovering damaged vehicles from the roadside, lifting and towing trucks and light armoured vehicles back to workshops. Recovery vehicles were essential to maintaining vehicle availability in any mechanised force, and the 969 served in US Army and Lend-Lease Commonwealth service across every theatre. The distinctive wrecker boom and winch equipment give this model a completely different character from the cargo truck, and the combination of powerful truck and recovery equipment makes for an impressive finished model.
