The Autocannone 3Ro da 90/53 was Italy's most impressive anti-aircraft and anti-tank weapon platform — the devastating 90mm Cannone da 90/53 mounted in the cargo bed of a 3Ro truck for mobile air defence and long-range anti-tank work. With performance comparable to the German 8.8cm Flak, the 90/53 was a serious threat to any Allied armour it faced, and the gun truck configuration gave it strategic mobility that towed versions lacked. At El Alamein, 90/53 batteries were among the most effective weapons Italian forces deployed. The combination of the big gun and the truck bed creates a dramatic and visually striking model unlike anything else in the Italian armour range.
