The Semovente M41M da 90/53 was Italy's answer to the heavy tank and long-range anti-tank problem — a 90mm anti-aircraft gun of devastating power mounted on an M14/41 chassis, creating a tank destroyer capable of engaging any Allied vehicle at long range. With a muzzle velocity and penetration performance comparable to the feared German 8.8cm Flak, the 90/53 was far and away the most powerful armoured fighting vehicle Italy fielded in the war — only 48 were built, but each one was a serious threat to the heaviest Allied armour. The open-topped mounting and enormous gun dominate this distinctive vehicle's silhouette, making it one of the most dramatic Italian armour builds available.
