The Type 3 Chi-Nu was Japan's best tank to enter series production — armed with a 75mm gun that could finally challenge Allied medium tanks at reasonable ranges, it represented a significant leap over the 47mm weapons of earlier Japanese designs. But it arrived too late and in too small numbers, held back in the home islands for the anticipated invasion rather than risked in the Pacific fighting where it might have changed the balance of power. With two crew figures included, this kit creates an immediate diorama possibility straight from the box. The Chi-Nu's rakish, angular lines and the considerable size of its 75mm gun make it one of the most visually impressive Japanese tank subjects available.
