IBG 1/72 Type 4 Ke-Nu Japanese Light Tank (72091)

The Type 4 Ke-Nu was a Japanese light tank created by recycling Type 97 Chi-Ha turrets onto Type 95 Ha-Go hulls — a pragmatic wartime conversion that gave the aging Ha-Go a better gun while avoiding the need to manufacture entirely new vehicles. This kind of battlefield improvisation was characteristic of Japan's increasingly strained industrial capacity in the later war years, and the Ke-Nu's mixed parentage gives it a distinctive appearance quite different from either parent vehicle. Operated primarily in the home islands for the anticipated Allied invasion that never came, the Ke-Nu represents Japan's last effort to field useful armour from available resources. A niche and unusual subject for late-war Japanese armour specialists.
Japan's improvised late-war light tank — a fascinating hybrid for the serious IJA armour collector.
