The Universal Carrier II Mk.II incorporated improvements to the hull, suspension, and engine that addressed the lessons of early combat experience, producing a more reliable and better-equipped vehicle than the original Mk.I. The Mk.II became the standard production variant and served in enormous numbers in every theatre from 1942 onwards, equipping not only British and Commonwealth forces but also being supplied under Lend-Lease to the Soviet Union and used by many other Allied nations. The differences between Mk.I and Mk.II are precisely captured in IBG's variant-accurate kits, allowing modellers to build the correct mark for any specific unit or theatre.
