The Kriegsfischkutter — war fishing cutter — was Germany's multi-purpose small craft of the Second World War, derived from the traditional German fishing boat and pressed into naval service for mine-laying, minesweeping, submarine chasing, patrol, and escort duties along the German coast and in the Baltic, North Sea, and Mediterranean. Small, robust, and cheap to build, the KFK was produced in large numbers and served in a remarkable variety of roles that larger, purpose-built naval vessels were too valuable or too large to fulfil. ICM's 1/144 kit of this characterful small craft fills a significant gap in the WWII naval model market at a scale that makes even a small boat a substantial and rewarding build.
Germany's multi-purpose sea workhorse — the KFK Kriegsfischkutter that patrolled, swept mines, and chased submarines from the Baltic to the Mediterranean.
