The Battle of Mogadishu on 3–4 October 1993 — the "Black Hawk Down" action — was one of the most intense urban firefights involving American forces since Vietnam, in which Delta Force operators, Rangers, and helicopter crews fought their way through a city in chaos over eighteen hours to recover their comrades and complete their mission. Delta Force fighters in 1993 wore the equipment and carried the weapons of the peak of Cold War-era US special operations capability, and the Mogadishu soldier has a distinctive and immediately recognisable appearance. ICM's 1/16 figure captures a Delta operator in the equipment and dress of that specific action with the scale and detail that makes large-scale figures genuinely impressive display pieces.
