The Yakovlev Yak-9T was the tank-busting variant of the Soviet Union's most widely produced fighter, fitted with a 37mm Nudelman-Suranov cannon firing through the propeller hub in place of the standard 20mm weapon. Capable of destroying medium tanks with a burst of fire, it was also highly effective against aircraft, and Soviet pilots used it to great effect in both the ground attack and air-to-air roles during the critical battles of 1943–1945. The Yak-9T's combination of fighter agility and heavy cannon armament made it one of the most versatile and dangerous Soviet aircraft of the war, and ICM's 1/32 kit brings this important type to large scale with the detail appropriate to the subject.
