The Panzerspähwagen (Funk) P 204(f) was the radio-equipped command variant of the captured Panhard 178 armoured car in German service — the turret removed and replaced with a fixed superstructure housing radio equipment and additional crew space for signals duties. Like the standard P 204(f), this variant was a product of Germany's systematic exploitation of French military equipment captured in 1940, and it served in the communications and command role across multiple theatres. The comparison between the standard armed version and this radio-equipped variant provides interesting modelling options for collectors building German reconnaissance and command vehicle displays.
