The Bell AH-1G HueyCobra was the world’s first purpose-designed attack helicopter, entering US Army service in 1967 and seeing immediate combat deployment in Vietnam. The Early variant covers the initial production aircraft with the original nose turret arrangement and XM28 armament system — a slender, fast gunship that proved devastatingly effective in the close air support and escort roles. The AH-1G set the template for all subsequent attack helicopter development and remains one of the most significant rotary-wing designs in aviation history. KP Models’ 1/72 kit captures the early production configuration with Vietnam-era markings.
