The SPAD 51 was a French single-seat fighter biplane of the mid-1920s, developed by SPAD as a successor to the famous SPAD XIII of the Great War. The C1 designation indicates the single-seat fighter configuration, and the 51 served with the Aéronautique Militaire through the late 1920s before being exported to Poland, where it saw active service with the Polish Air Force. A rare interwar French subject — the gap between the wars is one of the least-modelled periods in aviation history, and the SPAD 51 is a genuinely unusual find for the interwar collector.
