The Mitsubishi Kamikaze was not a combat aircraft but a record-breaking long-distance mail plane — the aircraft that made the famous Tokyo-to-London flight in April 1937, covering the 15,357km route in just 94 hours and demonstrating Japanese aviation capability to the world. Built to a commission from the Asahi Shimbun newspaper, the Kamikaze was a sleek low-wing monoplane powered by a Mitsubishi Kinsei engine, and its successful intercontinental flight was front-page news across Europe. An unusual and historically fascinating civil aviation subject with a great story attached to it.
Box shows signs of age related storage - see photos. Instructions and decals are present, but the instructions have some notes in biro on them. There is a tube of glue in this kit, but I doubt it is any good.
