In late February and March 2022, Russian forces advanced on Kyiv following the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The defence of the capital — by regular army units, territorial defence volunteers, and civilians — ultimately forced the Russian withdrawal from the Kyiv oblast by early April. Master Box's 1/24 scale figure documents a Ukrainian defender of this period in accurate contemporary uniform and equipment: body armour, helmet, and the weapons and load-bearing gear of the modern infantryman.
