Zhu Yuanzhang rose from peasant orphan to founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty — one of the most remarkable careers in Chinese history. He led the Red Turban rebel forces that expelled the Mongol Yuan Dynasty, and in 1368 declared himself the Hongwu Emperor, establishing a dynasty that would rule China for nearly three centuries. Master Box's 1/24 scale figure depicts him as the military commander who fought his way to the Dragon Throne, capturing the armour, weapons, and bearing of a 14th-century Chinese warlord at the height of his power.
