Matchbox 1/76 Krupp Protz Kfz. 69 3,7cm Panzerabwehrkanone (PK-88)

The 3.7cm Pak 36 was the standard German anti-tank gun at the outbreak of the Second World War — a light, manoeuvrable weapon that had proven effective in the Spanish Civil War and served Germany well in Poland and France. By 1941, however, it was already struggling against the thicker armour of British Matildas and Soviet T-34s and KV-1s, earning the dispiriting nickname Heeresanklopfgerät — the "Army door knocker" — from the German infantry it was supposed to protect. The Krupp Protz Kfz. 69 was the standard wheeled towing vehicle for the Pak 36, a six-wheeled cross-country truck that carried the gun crew and ammunition alongside the weapon itself, forming the complete anti-tank team as it moved between positions.
