Matchbox 1/76 Panzer Jaeger IV L/70 (PK-87)

The Jagdpanzer IV L/70 was one of Germany's most effective tank destroyers of the Second World War — a low-profile, well-armoured vehicle mounting the long 7.5cm Pak 42 L/70 gun that could penetrate the frontal armour of any Allied tank at combat ranges. Built on the proven Panzer IV chassis, it combined the reliability of a well-understood platform with the hitting power of the weapon intended for the Panther tank, in a package significantly smaller and cheaper to produce than a Panther itself. Allied tank crews who encountered the Jagdpanzer IV L/70 in Normandy and the subsequent campaign into Germany found it a formidable opponent, particularly in defensive positions where its low silhouette made it extremely difficult to spot before it fired.
