The A7V was Germany's only tank of the First World War — a massive, fortress-like vehicle built by Krupp that carried a crew of 18, mounted a 57mm gun and six machine guns, and participated in history's first tank-versus-tank engagement when it met British Mark IVs at Villers-Bretonneux in April 1918. Only about 20 were ever completed, making it one of the rarest operational vehicles of any major combatant in the war. Meng's 1/35 A7V is a rare and detailed treatment of this historically significant subject, capturing the towering hull and extensive detail of this unique German AFV.
