By the winter of 1944–45, the Wehrmacht was fighting a war of contraction — falling back across Poland, Hungary, and Germany itself in conditions of bitter cold and chronic fuel shortage. Tank riders — infantry carried on the outside of tanks to keep pace with armoured formations — were a standard feature of late-war German operations, particularly on the Eastern Front where roads were few and distances vast. MiniArt's set captures these soldiers in the layered winter uniforms of 1944–45: reversible parkas, felt boots, and the improvised cold-weather gear of an army running out of everything except the determination to keep fighting. An essential addition to any late-war Eastern Front armour build.
