Romania was one of Germany's most significant Axis partners on the Eastern Front, and its air force — the Forțele Aeriene Regale ale României — operated alongside the Luftwaffe from the opening of Barbarossa through to Romania's defection to the Allied side in August 1944. Romanian and German pilots shared airfields, missions, and the same general pattern of flight dress adapted to the conditions of the Eastern Front, while ground crews in both forces worked through the same extremes of temperature and operational pressure. MiniArt's 1/48 set captures both nationalities in the accurate flying dress and ground crew clothing of the period — an unusual combination that opens up authentic Axis airfield diorama scenarios rarely catered for by other manufacturers.
