The 7TP single-turret version was the definitive Polish tank of the Second World War — the production variant that replaced the twin-turret design and mounted a Swedish Bofors 37mm anti-tank gun in a single, rotating turret. With its diesel engine, sloped armour improvements, and effective main armament, the single-turret 7TP was arguably the best light tank in action during the September 1939 campaign, capable of destroying German Panzer I and II tanks at combat ranges while being significantly harder to knock out in return. Around 170 single-turret 7TPs were built, and their crews fought with great skill and determination during the brief, doomed defence of Poland. Mirage Hobby's 1/35 kit is the most comprehensive treatment of this historically important and underrepresented subject available in scale model form.
The best light tank of September 1939 — the 7TP's single-turret fighting form in 1/35.
