The 7TP was the most capable tank in the Polish Army's inventory in September 1939 — a development of the British Vickers 6-ton design that the Poles had licence-built and substantially improved with a more powerful diesel engine and better armour protection. The twin-turret variant, armed with two machine guns in side-by-side turrets, represented the original Polish approach to the design before the superior single-turret version entered production. Though the twin-turret variant was largely replaced in front-line service by 1939, a number saw combat in the September campaign, and the type is an essential subject for any serious coverage of Polish armour between the wars. Mirage Hobby's 1/35 kit captures the twin-turret configuration in the full detail this distinctive and historically important tank deserves.
Poland's home-grown tank — the 7TP twin-turret, the best armour in the September campaign.
