The 'First Hundred' designation refers to the initial production batch of M3 Stuart light tanks, which differed in several detail respects from later production vehicles — making them a distinct and rewarding subject for the detail-conscious modeller. The M3 Stuart entered service with the US Army in 1941 and was supplied to the British Army under Lend-Lease in considerable numbers, where it was nicknamed the Honey by crews who appreciated its mechanical reliability compared to contemporary British light tanks.
