Novo was the Soviet state export brand that marketed reboxed Frog toolings to Western customers from the late 1970s, and their releases are now sought-after pieces of modelling history in their own right. This kit pairs the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.XIV — the Griffon-engined variant that entered service in 1944 and proved fast enough to intercept V-1 flying bombs in level flight — with a V-1 itself, making it one of the more thematically coherent dual-subject releases of the era. The Spitfire XIV was the RAF's answer to the V-1 menace over southern England in the summer of 1944: fast, powerful, and capable of the tip-rolling interception technique that sent the bombs tumbling without the pilot needing to get close to the warhead. A vintage kit with a compelling subject and genuine historical resonance.
The interceptor and its target — Spitfire XIV and flying bomb, together in 1/72 scale.
Box shows signs of age-related storage — see photos. Kit is still factory sealed.
