The Hawker Typhoon was a troubled aircraft that became a war-winner. Plagued by engine and structural problems in its early career, the Typhoon was almost withdrawn from service before it found its true role as a ground-attack platform in the fighter-bomber configuration — where its speed, robustness, and ability to carry rockets and bombs made it the most feared Allied close-support aircraft on the Western Front from D-Day onwards. Rocket-armed Typhoons of 2nd Tactical Air Force devastated German armoured columns retreating from the Falaise Pocket in August 1944. Novo's rebox of the Frog Typhoon tooling brings this important subject to 1/72 scale in a vintage package with genuine collector appeal.
