The Husky Vehicle Mounted Mine Detector is a South African-designed route-clearance system that became one of the most widely used mine-detection platforms operated by coalition forces in Afghanistan. Lightweight, fast-moving, and equipped with electromagnetic detection systems, the Husky operates ahead of convoys and clearance teams to identify buried metallic threats before vehicles pass over them. The Mk.III variant with GPRS mine detector represents the system in its most capable configuration — able to detect and log the GPS coordinates of suspect objects for follow-on clearance teams. Its distinctive articulated frame and sensor array make it one of the more visually unusual military vehicles of the modern era. Panda Hobby's 1/35 kit captures this operational system in precise detail.
