The Eurocopter EC 135 is one of the most widely used light twin-engine helicopters in emergency medical and mountain rescue service worldwide — its tail rotor-less Fenestron tail design, excellent single-engine performance, and spacious cabin making it a natural choice for operations where reliability and cabin access are critical. Air Zermatt is Switzerland’s premier mountain rescue operator, based at Zermatt in the Swiss Alps beneath the Matterhorn, and their EC 135s are among the most intensively worked rescue helicopters in Europe — operating in conditions of extreme altitude, wind, and temperature where technical and crew demands are unmatched. Revell’s 1/32 kit captures the EC 135 in Air Zermatt’s distinctive orange and white livery, making it a striking subject for anyone interested in rescue aviation, Swiss aviation, or helicopters in general.
