The Alpha Jet is the successful result of a Franco-German collaborative programme launched in the early 1970s to produce a common jet trainer and light attack aircraft for the Armée de l’Air and the Luftwaffe — two nations that historically built different aircraft for different doctrinal requirements finding enough common ground to share a single airframe. The E (Entraînement — Training) variant was the French version, configured primarily as an advanced jet trainer; the German A variant was optimised for close air support. The Alpha Jet entered service in 1978 and was exported widely, serving with the air forces of Belgium, Morocco, Qatar, Nigeria, Egypt, and Togo among others, making it one of the most successful European jet trainers of its generation. This kit box has been opened and the sprue bag has been opened. The kit is complete and unstarted. Instructions and decals are present.
