RS Models’ 1/72 scale Arado Ar 199 Early Version model kit recreates the early configuration of this unusual German floatplane. Kit 92271 offers a distinctive subject for modellers interested in Second World War maritime aviation and the less familiar aircraft developed for training and support duties.
Designed as a naval trainer, the Ar 199 combined a low-wing layout and twin floats with an enclosed cockpit accommodating instructor and pupil side by side. The type later undertook air-sea rescue duties, including operations in northern Europe. This early-version boxing complements RS Models’ separate late-version release, providing another option for exploring the development of this little-known aircraft.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Unless otherwise stated these models will need some construction and painting. Glues and paints are not included.
