RS Models’ 1/72 scale Arado Ar 396 model kit recreates a lesser-known training aircraft from the closing stages of the Second World War. Kit 92231 includes grey and clear plastic parts, waterslide decals and instructions, with marking options for Luftwaffe and Czechoslovak aircraft.
Developed from the Arado Ar 96 training-aircraft family, the Ar 396 made extensive use of wood to reduce demand for scarce strategic metals. Its low-wing layout and retractable main undercarriage reflected its advanced-training role. The design also continued in France after the war through the related SIPA trainer family, giving this unusual subject a connection to both wartime aircraft development and post-war aviation.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Unless otherwise stated these models will need some construction and painting. Glues and paints are not included.
