RS Models’ 1/72 scale P-38G Lightning model kit recreates an early production version of Lockheed’s distinctive twin-engine fighter. Kit 92280 includes grey and clear plastic parts, cast resin components, waterslide decals and instructions, making it an interesting addition to a collection of Second World War American aircraft.
Production of the P-38G began in August 1942, as the Lightning developed into one of the US Army Air Forces’ most versatile fighters. Powered by two Allison V-1710 engines, the P-38 family served in roles ranging from long-range bomber escort to ground attack, achieving particular success in the Pacific. This kit offers the opportunity to model the G variant rather than the later J and L versions.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Unless otherwise stated these models will need some construction and painting. Glues and paints are not included.
