The McDonnell F-101 Voodoo was a long-range penetration fighter developed for Strategic Air Command before being repurposed as a tactical fighter and interceptor. The Voodoo was the first aircraft to break the 1,000mph barrier in level flight and served as a nuclear-capable strike aircraft with USAF and Canadian forces throughout the Cold War. The RF-101 reconnaissance variant flew some of the most dangerous missions of the Cuban Missile Crisis, bringing back the low-level photography that confirmed Soviet missile installations. Lindberg’s 1959 kit was contemporary with the Voodoo’s front-line service.
This is a vintage kit from 1959, and it shows signs of its age - see photos. Kit is complete and un-started. Instructions and decals are missing. Instructions can be downloaded from Scalemates or similar.
