Trumpeter’s 1/700 scale USS Blue Ridge (LCC-19) model kit depicts the Blue Ridge-class command ship in her 1997 configuration. Kit 05715 offers a distinctive subject for a modern U.S. Navy collection, representing a ship built to coordinate fleet operations rather than serve as a conventional combat vessel.

Commissioned in November 1970, USS Blue Ridge was designed for the amphibious command role, providing command and control facilities for fleet commanders. She became the U.S. Seventh Fleet flagship in 1979 and was forward-deployed to Yokosuka, Japan. This 1997 edition captures the ship during that long-running flagship service.
