Trumpeter’s 1/72 scale FAUN SLT-56 “Franziska” tank transporter (00203) represents a heavy vehicle built for the Bundeswehr. Introduced in the late Cold War period, the SLT-56 was designed to move main battle tanks by road, a task that called for a powerful tractor and heavy-duty trailer rather than a conventional military truck.
Tank transporters are part of the machinery behind armoured operations: they carry heavy vehicles over long distances while sparing their tracks and keeping crews and equipment ready for deployment. The Franziska brings that logistical side of modern German armour into a model collection or transport-themed diorama.
