The M4A3E8 Sherman — the “Easy Eight” — was the definitive late-war Sherman variant, the horizontal volute spring suspension (HVSS) giving it a smoother cross-country ride and wider tracks that improved flotation on soft ground, while the Ford GAA V8 engine provided reliable power. Armed with the 76mm M1 gun that could penetrate Panther armour at medium ranges, the M4A3E8 served in northwest Europe and the Pacific in the final year of the war, and later achieved fame in the Korean War where M4A3E8s of the 1st Cavalry Division fought T-34/85s in the battles of 1950. Trumpeter’s 1/72 kit captures the Easy Eight with full HVSS running gear detail.
