The BA-6M was a modernised variant of the BA-6 Soviet armoured car, featuring improved running gear and minor modifications to the hull and superstructure that distinguished it from the standard BA-6. Soviet armoured car development during the 1930s proceeded rapidly through a series of incrementally improved models, and the BA-6M represents one of the refinement steps in the BA series before production shifted to the more capable BA-10. The BA-6M served in the same conflicts as the standard BA-6, including Spain, the Far East, and the opening phase of the war with Germany. UM Models’ 1/72 kit captures this modernised Soviet armoured car variant.
